We learn how, when she was in high school, she had no interest in the medical field or any of the sciences at all. She had a very different interest, but different things in her life drastically shifted what she would study in college and where she would end up afterwards. She shares some medical stories of things she has seen and experienced, including some of her own personal medical stories and how knowing how medicine and the human body work affected how she processed those things. She and Elliott also discuss how she views the biblical concept of healing while working within the art of medicine and how her faith helps her to relate to and help her patients.
